OLD COUNTRY CHURCH

HOW WE BEGAN

It all started back in 1990 My mother and Dad Helen and Norwood Kennedy decided to start having a song service at the service station my dad was operating along with the help of Norwood Williford who is now deceased. They would gather on saturday nights and several people would get together and sing the glory of God down upon them and there would be times of testimonies and lots of prayer. They were wonderful times and was enjoyed by every one who attended. After about a year of this they decided that they would start a church at the station with brother Bud Lee as the pastor. Things accellerated from there and they decided to buy a vacant building located on Old Chinquapin Road outside of beautiful Beulaville North Carolina.

The church began to grow and we had wonderful services and fourth Sunday night song services and we really enjoyed eating and fellowshipping together so we had dinners every second Sunday for a long time but now we have quarterly dinners each quarter to celebrate birthdays of all the church members who had birthdays during the quarter. Around the year 2004 I (Harold Kennedy) felt that God was calling me to preach so I began to preach some services for brother Lee , because He was quite ill and was unable to preach full time. I grew a lot spiritually during these times and am now since the passing of our beloved pastor Lee , the full time pastor of one of the finest groups of people I've ever known. We are a small church organization and we are non-denominational and we do our best to proclaim the gospel of Christ and we encourage and invite you to be with us any time and I am sure you will feel welcome and at home here in this Church.
