Old Country Church

I just want to Thank God for what he has done for me in my life.  I have a loving husband, I have a roof over my head , food on the table and clothes to wear. I thank him for every day that comes around no matter how stormy it is,  it is always a beautiful day.  I am thankfull of all the friends that we have, and I am thankfull of our church as small as it may be I thank God for it everyday.

I would like to say Thank You Jesus for all that you have done for me in my life.  You know everything that has been going on in my life, I Thank you for forgiving of my past, and I thank you for all that you have done for my husband for bringing him through the cancer that he was faced with.  Thank you for bringing him through the surgeries he had to have done and Praise God there is NO MORE CANCER.. Thank you Jesus.

 

It all started one night I coughed up some blood, I went to the emergency room in Kinston, they said I had Pneumonia. They wanted to admit me but I asked to go home cause I did not have any insurance. I followed up with my personal doctor, he done more x-rays they still were not cleared so went back the next week for another one and it still was not cleared, so they finally sent me for a CT scan. After that they sent me to see a Neurologist. No one told me why I was having to see him. It was not until the doctor came in that we were told that I had cancer, not just one cancer but two. I had a cancer on my lung and one on my kidney,  my whole world closed in. What were we going to do. I started to see some of the local doctors there in town. and the news was not getting any better. The surgeon that was going to operate on me for my lung said that I was going to lose the whole right lung and the airway, and that there was nothing that he could do to safe it. He schedule surgery for June the 4th, my birthday of all things, and he told us all that could happen he said that there was a chance that I would end up in a rest home for a while and that I might need oxygen the rest of my life and that there was a chance that I would not make it off the table. After that when we left his office it just seem like everything was going down. I called my sister to let her know what the surgeon had said, I did not want to tell her because she had lost her husband to lung cancer about two years ago. After talking to her me and my wife  just pulled over on the side of the road and cried, and prayed. About 15 minutes later my sister called me back and said to be in Goldsboro she had gotten an appointment for me with Dr. Atkins, he was the doctor that had treating her husband for 11 years with cancer. So after seeing Dr. Atkins and talking with him we had a better light on what was going on.( And he told me the power of prayer works.)  Done more test with him and he sent me to Raleigh to see doctors there at Wake Med. The doctor I was supposed to see there was going to be out of town for a few weeks so he sent me to Duke Raleigh Hospital to see Dr. White. He done more test and told me what he found, I told him what the doctor told me in Kinston, he looked at me and said, that there is not need in me losing my whole lung, that he could safe it, PRAISE GOD. I went for surgery on June 18, 09 everything with surgery went good, no problems, and 15 days later I came home. I lost my right kidney on May 26,2010 and everything went good with it. So now I am cancer free. Jesus was with  me every step of the way, I do not know why I had to go through what I went through, I only know that there was a reason and a purpose for it, I may not understand it now, but I will one day, Thank you JESUS for being there  by my side. And thank you JESUS for allowing my wife  to be with me also, and my Sister,and my CHURCH FAMILY.    DJR
